About us
New company, experienced crew
Handyman Vancouver started operating in August 2026. The company is new — the people aren't. Every one of the six has at least 5 years in their own trade. We're covered by WorkSafeBC, and the regulated trades go to licensed subcontractors rather than being done in-house. Here's who does the work.
Dmytro
Carpentry & general repairs
5+ years in the trade
Built-ins, trim, stairs and doors, plus most of what lands on a general repair list. The one who ends up scribing new work to hundred-year-old walls that are nowhere near square.
Adam
Painting & finishing
5+ years in the trade
Interior and exterior painting, and the preparation that decides whether it lasts. Will tell you plainly when a surface needs more filling than you were hoping to pay for.
Viktor
Smart home & electronics
5+ years in the trade
TV mounting, cable concealment, doorbells, cameras, thermostats and hubs. Hands over with everything paired, named sensibly and actually working, rather than merely installed.
Tyler
Appliances & installations
5+ years in the trade
Appliance diagnosis and repair, and fixture installation on existing services. The one who will tell you when a repair costs more than the appliance is worth.
Eric
Siding, railings & exterior
5+ years in the trade
Cladding, decks, railings and fences — the parts of a house that take the weather. Opens things up and shows you what is behind them before quoting either a patch or a rebuild.
Serhii
Renovations & project coordination
5+ years in the trade
Multi-trade projects: sequencing the work, coordinating the licensed subcontractors, and keeping a renovation to the dates it was quoted on.
How we're set up
Handyman Vancouver trades as a sole proprietorship based at 1889 Matthews Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6J 3P3. We work out to customers rather than from a shopfront, every day, 6am–10pm, across Vancouver and the wider Metro Vancouver area.
Where a job is regulated — plumbing, electrical, gas, HVAC — we don't do it ourselves. We're a handyman company, not a licensed electrical or plumbing contractor, and saying so plainly costs us less than the alternative costs you. That work goes to a licensed subcontractor who pulls the permit under their own licence and is accountable for the installation; we coordinate the job, handle access and make good afterwards.
We carry WorkSafeBC coverage, so nobody working on your property is uninsured against injury there. Where a job is outside what any of us should be doing at all, we say so and point you to who should do it.
How we got started
We registered in August 2026, so as a company we are genuinely new and we would rather say that than dress it up. What is not new is the people. Six tradespeople who had each been working their own trade around Metro Vancouver for years decided it made more sense to send work to each other than to send customers away.
That is the whole idea. Most household lists need two or three trades, and booking them separately is how a weekend of work becomes a month of waiting for callbacks. One point of contact, one visit where possible, and an honest handoff to a licensed subcontractor for the parts we are not permitted to do.
How we work
Quotes are free and written, and held for 30 days. Small work is charged by time from $290; anything larger is quoted after we have looked at it, with materials separated from labour so you can see what a change in specification actually costs. We do not start a variation without telling you the price first.
We turn work down. If a job needs an engineer, a ticketed gas fitter, or simply someone based closer to you than we are, we say so on the phone rather than taking the booking and working it out later. A new company cannot afford a bad job any more than you can.
