Cleaning

Deep Cleaning in Vancouver

A deep clean is not a longer standard clean. It is a different job aimed at everything a maintenance visit deliberately passes over — the accumulated build-up that no amount of weekly wiping reaches, because reaching it means moving things and waiting for chemistry to work.

What deep cleaning adds

Furniture moved and cleaned behind and beneath. Skirtings and door frames washed rather than dusted. Window tracks and sills, light switches and door handles, the tops of doors and cupboards. Extractor fan covers. The dust that lives on the top edge of everything at above-eye height.

It also covers the surfaces that have gone dull rather than dirty — limescale on taps and screens, soap film on tiles, the greasy haze that settles over a kitchen and is only obvious once half of it has been removed. This is the visit where the difference is visible from the doorway.

Appliance interiors and grout

Oven interiors, fridge interiors including the seals and the drip channel, the rubber gasket of a front-loading washer where mould collects, and the dishwasher filter that most people have never removed. These are the four that make the biggest difference and the four most often skipped.

Grout is chemistry and patience rather than force. The product needs its dwell time to work, and a stiff brush after it has sat beats a wire brush immediately, which just abrades the grout and makes it hold dirt faster next time. Grout that has been discoloured for years may lighten substantially without ever returning to white, and we would rather say that up front than have you disappointed.

How long a deep clean takes

Budget most of a day. A typical two-bedroom runs six to eight hours with two people; larger homes or ones that have not had this done before take longer. Pricing runs $580–$1,100 on size and condition, quoted after we know both.

Condition matters more than square footage, which is why we ask about it rather than pricing off bedroom count alone. Be candid when you book — nobody is judging, and an accurate description gets you an accurate quote instead of a conversation on the day about scope.

When to book one

Four moments make obvious sense: before guests arrive for a long stay, at the change of season when the windows have been shut all winter, before putting a property on the market, and as the reset before starting a recurring schedule.

That last one is the most economical. A deep clean followed by regular maintenance is cheaper over a year than repeatedly booking standard visits that are quietly trying to catch up on a backlog and never quite managing it.

What this costs

$290 standard · deep clean $580–$1,100

Standard clean is a three-hour visit for a typical two-bedroom. Deep and move-out cleans are quoted on size and condition, and we bring everything.

Materials are always separate from labour and passed on at cost. Quotes are free and written, and the full rate card is published rather than given out on request.

Common questions

How is a deep clean different from a standard clean?

A standard clean maintains a home already in order. A deep clean goes after what maintenance skips: behind and under furniture, skirtings, window tracks, appliance interiors, grout and limescale. It is a different job rather than a longer version of the same one.

How long does a deep clean take?

Most of a day — six to eight hours with two people for a typical two-bedroom, longer for a larger home or one that has never had it done. It runs $580–$1,100 depending on size and condition, and condition matters more than floor area, which is why we ask about it.

How often is one needed?

Once or twice a year alongside regular maintenance, or as a one-off reset before guests, a sale, or starting a recurring schedule. Doing it once and then maintaining is cheaper over a year than repeated standard visits quietly trying to catch up on a backlog.
